This is an educational program designed to develop the technical skills needed in the veterinary profession. Participants are youth who have a sincere interest in all animals, especially companion animals. They share an eagerness to learn more about animal care and the function of the Companion Animal Alliance in our community. Applicants must have completed the ninth grade and will enter either the 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2019.
Participants will cover topics including proper care and handling of pets, pet diseases, pet first aid and CPR, anatomy, and more. Working with our camp interns and instructors, participants will assist in shelter rounds in the morning, will have the opportunity to observe spay and neuter surgeries, and will complete anatomy dissections.
Camp curriculum designed by certified science educator.
