Volunteer

We couldn't do what we do without the help of volunteers! Our volunteer program is back up and running and offers many options for how you can spend your time in our shelter helping out. You can participate in a variety of volunteer activities at CAA. We are always looking for ways to engage and include volunteers like you because you help make our lifesaving work possible.

Become A Volunteer

Requirements to become a volunteer:

  • Volunteers are required to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours a month.

  • Volunteers must be 18 or older to volunteer in the shelter with animals.

Group Volunteering

All volunteers must be 18 or older.

  • Groups must have a minimum of 10 participants.

  • All group members must arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled event.

  • 50% of group members MUST be present or the event will be canceled.

  • Group members MUST volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours.

  • All participants must wear long pants, a t-shirt, closed-toe shoes, and no dangling jewelry

Monetary or supplies donations are encouraged but not required.

Youths ages 17 and Under

Children 15 and under may not volunteer in the shelter, but there are still many ways to help shelter animals. Volunteer hours can still be received for these projects. Some of these are:

  • Host a donation drive. We are always in need of supplies! Donation drives can be held at schools, businesses, or in your neighborhood. Every little bit helps to save lives!

  • Make dog treat bags. The best motivator for our dogs is treats! Also, save those cereal boxes. We can make awesome canine enrichment toys out of them.

  • Make cat mats. Are you crafty? Then you can help our cats sleep in comfort. Simply sewing two 20-inch squares of fleece together with batting in the middle creates comfy cat mats that make our kitties purr!

  • Make catnip socks. Stuff a baby sock with catnip and tie the open end with yarn.
